How to Use the GPS in the FSX

"Flight Simulator X" is the tenth release in the popular series of games developed by Microsoft Game Studios. "FSX" includes a wide variety of real-life aircraft and tools that are designed to assist pilots from takeoff to landing. The standard edition includes a GPS that is used to plan and control direct routes between airports. Destinations are entered into the GPS interface, and the corresponding latitude and longitude coordinates are used to provide the player with a route to the waypoint.

Instructions

      Click the "Direct" button on the right hand side of the GPS control panel to open the Waypoint menu. This button is labeled with a right-facing arrow and the letter "D."

      Click the "PUSH CRSR" arrow button to highlight the first text field. Using your computer's keyboard, type in the area code of your destination.

      Click the "PUSH CRSR" arrow button to highlight the second text field. Type in the name of your destination and click the "ENT" button on the right hand side of the GPS control panel to set the waypoint.

      Follow the pink route that is displayed on the GPS screen. Click the "Direct" button to update or change the current waypoint.
