How to Hide the Main Panel in IMVU

Similar to Facebook, IMVU is a social website designed for teens and young adults. Members have static profiles online as well as 3-D personal chat rooms to connect with new people and keep in touch with friends. The home page contains panels of information, including My Outfits, My Friends, My Gallery and My Wish List. The main panel, or About Me section, shows your avatar name, age, gender, location, tagline and additional personal information. If you do not wish to share this panel with the public, you can restrict other members from seeing it or hide it altogether.

     Navigate to IMVU.com and sign in; then click "Account" in the upper right corner.

     Scroll down to the "Panel Visibility Settings" and locate the "About Me" panel. Click the blue arrows and then select "Off" from the menu. If you only want your friends to see it, select "Friends Only."

     Repeat for other panels you want to hide, or turn them all off from the drop-down menu next to "All Panels."

     Save the new settings by clicking "Update Preferences"; then scroll up and click your name under "Member Profile" to view the changes in a new browser window.
