Beginning Balance
In ̶0;The Sims 2,̶1; each household begins with a balance of $20,000 Simoleons in the bank. The funds are used to purchase a home and buy furnishings. Until more income is coming into a Sim household, the funds left over are the family's only means of survival. Although a daily job can bring in income on a daily basis for a Sim, there is a faster way to get ahead for more ambitious Sims.
Small Boost
To maintain your integrity while also getting a small boost, use a cheat code to gain $1,000 Simoleons. The cash is deposited immediately in the family's funds. Enter cheat codes in a cheat field that is exposed after you press the ̶0;Ctrl," "Shift" and "C̶1; keys at the same time. Enter ̶0;boolprop testingcheatsenabled true̶1; to activate cheats. Obtain the small boost by entering ̶0;kaching̶1; after activating your cheats.
Motherlode
Big-time cheaters, or the more ambitious Sim players, may benefit from the $50,000 Simoleons cheat code. Entering ̶0;motherlode̶1; in the cheat field instantly boosts the family's fortunes and opens the doors for great opportunities, such as quitting a job or purchasing the overpriced artwork in the Buy menu. If a Sim blows through the first windfall, re-entering the code adds an additional $50,000 to the family's funds. You can use the code as often as you need or want.
Earning Funds
More honest players can follow the rules and earn money from jobs or other projects. Jobs in various fields, including science and the military, offer varying amounts of Simoleons on a daily basis for showing up and working. A Sim who is in a good mood when he heads out the door for work is likely to gain a promotion or bonus, which can help the family funds. Opportunities to earn money -- such as baking cookies or attending a play -- may be presented throughout gameplay.
