Instructions

    • 1

Visit the Garden of Eden Creation Kit website. With the G.E.C.K. you can mod either Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas. You can create new terrain maps, characters, scenarios, weapons and armor.

    • 2

Download and install the program. It must go in the same directory as either Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas. Fallout's native modeling format is "DDS." Photoshop CS5 does not export in this format. Fortunately, Photoshop accepts third-party plug-ins to enhance its functionality.

    • 3

Visit the Nvidia Developer Zone. Download the plug-in and place it in your plug-in folder. The next time you load Photoshop, you will be able to import and export in "DDS" format.

    • 4

Open the Fallout textures with Photoshop, then edit and adjust them. Save each file under a different name. Open the G.E.C.K. to build your edited files into scenarios for Fallout: New Vegas.
