How to Get by the Turrets in Fallout: New Vegas

"Fallout 3: New Vegas" features several quests where you encounter mounted turrets that can automatically track and attempt to kill you, such as the turrets placed in the bombed-out town of Searchlight. When dealing with turrets like this, you can try to sneak around them or disable them, depending on the skill set possessed by your particular character.

Instructions

    • 1

      Slowly approach the turret, preferably from the opposite direction the turret is facing.

      Press "Crouch" to enter sneaking mode so you are less likely to be noticed.

      Crouch-walk slowly past the turrets if your character has high sneaking skills.

    • 4

      Crouch-walk up to the turret, press "E" and choose the "Deactivate" option if your character has high computer skills. You can then walk past them normally since they will not target you.
