How Do You Earn Money in the Space Stage in Spore?

In "Spore," you bring an entire species from single-celled organism to space-faring civilization, and along the way introduce commerce and diplomacy. In the final stage of the game, called the Space Stage, your civilization travels the stars, making allies and conquering planet outposts. In this stage, your race has a spaceship and can begin earning galactic currency in trade or through cheats.

Instructions

  Load "Spore." Begin or continue a game in the Space stage. If you have not yet played the space stage, you will need to unlock it by playing through the previous four stages. Land your spacecraft on a planet with a spice factory.

  Hover over the capital city, and collect the spice. Click the ship's cargo button to open the exchange screen, and bring all of the cargo into your ship. If you own the planet you are on, the spice should be free.

  Travel to another civilization's planet. Choose a civilization that does not try to attack your craft as you enter its space; ideally, select an ally civilization. If you do not have an ally, you can get one by opening communications with a planet -- which happens automatically as you enter their space -- and choosing the correct dialog options.

  Select "Trade" from the dialog screen. Sell the spice from your cargo hold to earn money. Different planets will pay different prices for different types of spices, and there are five different types of spice you can find.

  Purchase the cheapest type of spice that this planet has, and then travel to another planet. Choose one that pays more for the type of spice you have purchased. Repeat this process to earn profit and make money.
