How to Change Your Carry Weight in Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl

"S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl" is a game in which your survival in a hostile environment is directly related to the amount of supplies your inventory can hold. The only way to increase your carrying weight (allowing you to hold more first aid kits, ammo and other valuable supplies) is by finding and equipping the rare exoskeleton suit. Reaching the exoskeleton suit requires a journey through dangerous territory filled with deadly enemies, but the suit provides unprecedented protection once obtained.

Instructions

    • 1

Travel to Yantar. The Yantar zone is a swampy area located east of the Wild Territory zone. The PDA map shows you how to get to Yantar from wherever you are.

    • 2

Search for lone Stalker bodies for the "Fang's goodies" file. You won't be able to access the secret stash containing the exoskeleton suit until you find the PDA file that reveals its location, and that file can only be found on lone Stalker corpses in Yantar. The lone Stalkers contain many different files, but you need the one titled "Fang's goodies," which point to a cache location in the Pripyat zone. Keep searching the bodies, which are littered across Yantar, until you find the file.

Travel to Pripyat. The city of Pripyat is located north of the Red Forest zone. The Pripyat zone contains a lot of high-level enemies and is a war zone between competing factions within the game. It's best to wait until you are well equipped for combat before entering Pripyat to retrieve the suit.

Loot the exoskeleton suit at the stash location. The PDA file will point to a specific point on your map. Once you get there, the exoskeleton suit is located inside a cache hanging on a signpost.
