"Garry's Mod," known to most players as "GMod," is a fully customizable homebrew game based on "Half-Life 2." Unlike "Half-Life 2," which takes you through levels created by the development team, level creation is entirely up to you in "GMod." One of the many items in your inventory is the Physics Gun, which is shortened to "Physgun." The Physgun is based on the Gravity Gun from "Half-Life 2." Each time you use the gun, it emits a large beam, which you can turn off before starting up your game.

Run "Garry's Mod" on your computer. If you have the Steam program, you can run "Garry's Mod" by double-clicking its icon in the Steam main menu.

Allow the game to load to its main menu. Click on "Options" to show a list of things you can change.

Look at the top of the screen after clicking "Options" to see a row of tabs. Click the "Graphics" tab.

Check the box next to the "Hide Physgun Beams" field, then click "OK."
