How to Troubleshoot Barbie iDesign

Barbie toys have been a staple in the bedrooms of little girls for years. The Barbie iDesign computer game brings Barbie to your computer screen. This game, once installed, lets girls create custom-designed outfits for Barbie and other virtual models to wear and walk down a simulated runway. It even comes with a card that lets you share your creations with friends. If you are having trouble operating this program, you can get it working again by troubleshooting.

  Check the computer system that you have installed Barbie iDesign on to ensure it meets the minimum system requirements for the game if the program will not start, freezes, runs slow or displays errors while playing. You must have a Pentium III 450 MHz or better, 128 MB RAM, a 24x speed CD-ROM drive and 800 MB of hard drive space available. If your computer does not meet these requirements, you can't play this game.

  Click on the "Start" button if the installation program for the game does not appear when you put the disc into the CD tray. Click on the "Run" option and click on the text box in the window that appears. Type in "D:\install.exe" and click "Run" to access the installer. If "D" is not the letter associated with your CD drive, replace this with the correct letter.

  Disconnect the USB cord that connects the card reader used with the game to your computer if you are unable to scan your cards. Reconnect the cord and try again. If it is still not working properly, connect the cable to an alternate port on your computer. If this works, the first USB port is faulty. If this does not work, you might have a faulty card reader.

  Click on the "Start" button and select "Control Panel" if you are still having issues running the game even though you meet the minimum system requirements. Click on the "Add/Remove Programs" option and select "Barbie iDesign" from the list. Click "Uninstall." When the process is complete, reinsert the installation disc and install the program again to fix any issues that occurred during the last installation.
