How to Mesh for Sims 3

"Sims 3" is the latest in a line of games by Electronic Arts that allows players to control Sims characters within an unique world. While some objects can be purchased directly in the game, such as clothes, beds and kitchen appliances, others can be imported into the game from the internet. These custom content items include meshes. A mesh allows the item to appear in the game after installation. The process is simple and takes little time.

Instructions

Meshes in the Sims 3 Store

  Type "Sims 3" into the search box on the top right side of your web browser. Push "Enter" and select the "Sims 3" website from the options available.

  Create an account by following the directions on the top left side of the page. Register your "Sims 3" game to earn free Sim Points, or purchase additional points to be used for later purchases.

  Scroll to the top of the page. Select "The Store."

  Look through the categories on the left side of the page. Look at different objects, clothing or hair to find an item to download.

  Select an item and click on "Buy Now." Click "Yes" to confirm the purchase, and click on "Download Now" when prompted. Select "I have 'The Sims 3' installed" to start an immediate download into the game.
Meshes in the Exchange

  Scroll to the top of the page and select "The Exchange" for free custom options. Scroll through the categories on the left side of the page to find an object to be downloaded.

  Click "Add to Game" next to the item. Choose the "Sims3Launcher" and click "OK."

  Look for the "Download" tab after the "Sims 3" Installer has opened, and select it. Click "Install" to install the object directly into the game.
