How to Do Portfolios in The Sims 3: Ambitions

Stylist and architect careers come with the expansion pack "The Sims 3: Ambitions," and with these two careers comes the ability to build a portfolio to show off your good work. Whenever you complete an assigned job for either of these careers and the client is satisfied, the game prompts you to take a photo for your portfolio. However, only original, new works are put in the portfolio. Anytime a client asks for the same work again, it won't go in your portfolio if a photo of the job exists already.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the household that contains the Sim with the stylist or architect career.

    • 2

Check the Sim's business hours by clicking on the "Career" tab in the control panel. Only perform jobs during your business hours, as only these count for your portfolio.

    • 3

Keep an eye on the upper-right corner of the screen for notices to appear advising you of new available jobs. When the Sim is first starting out he only gets one job a day, but as he advances in the career the number of jobs per day increases.

    • 4

Click "Perform Job" when a notice comes up to start the job. The Sim will automatically go to the job site. Once at the site, the Sim will begin work straight away.

    • 5

Read the list of requirements the clients have for the specific job they want done. As you complete each item on the list, a checkmark will appear next to that item until they are all complete.

    • 6

Wait as the client reviews your work and gives his critique. If the Sim claps his hands and cheers, it means he likes your work, but if he cries, moans or stomps his feet, he isn't satisfied. When the Sim likes your work, a pop-up "congratulations" sign will announce your success.

    • 7

Enter camera mode by clicking to confirm the message, letting you know you can take a picture of your work. Use the mouse to aim the camera where you want it. Press the left mouse button to take the picture. A message appears to tell you that the picture is now in your portfolio.
