How to Save in The Secret of Monkey Island

LucasFilm Games originally released "The Secret of Monkey Island" in 1990; it is one of the earliest "point and click" adventures. The method for saving your game changes slightly depending on whether you're playing from the game disks or from your hard drive, but it's a simple command either way. Once you hit that button you'll only have to select a save slot and name it to save your game.

  Prepare a blank and formatted disk before you begin a game if you are playing from the floppy disks. If you've installed the game to your hard drive then you can ignore this step.

  Press "F5" at any point to save your game. Insert the save game disk when prompted if you're playing from floppy disks.

  Look at the list of saved games along the left side of the screen. Move the mouse pointer over the slot where you'd like to save your game and left click on it. Type in a name for the saved game slot and hit "OK" to save your game.
