How to Spawn Unique Items in Torchlight

"Torchlight," an action role-playing game by Runic Games, allows the player to take control of one of three unique characters. Each character provides a different manner of progressing through the game. As you complete quests and objectives, the game provides you with more and better items and loot. However, you might be after one particular item you just can't find. Rather than spending more time searching for it, you can use developer commands to spawn the item.

Instructions

  Right-click on the "Torchlight" shortcut on your desktop. Note the installation path. Open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to the installation path for "Torchlight."

  Locate the file titled "Settings.txt" in the main "Torchlight" installation directory. Open this file using any text editor. Locate the line that reads "console:0" and change it so it reads "console:1." Save the file.

  Launch "Torchlight." Enter a current game or start a new one.

  Press and hold the "Ctrl" and "Shift" keys. Press "`," also called the "tilde" key. This opens the console window.

  Type one of the following into the console and press "Enter" to display a list of all items of that type: "belt," "boots," "chest armor," "fish," "socketable," "gloves," "helmet," "potion," "scroll," "shoulder armor," "spell," "trinket," "weapon" or "armor."

  Locate the unique item you wish to spawn using these lists. Note the number of the item.

  Type the item type followed by the number to spawn that item. For example, if you want a unique helmet with item code 1197, you would type "helmet 1197" and press "Enter."
