A Guide to Torchlight Vanquisher

Players playing Runic Games' action roleplaying game "Torchlight" get to choose from one of three player classes. Each offers a different approach to combating foes and gaining loot. One of these classes is the "Vanquisher." The "Vanquisher" is a versatile class, offering three distinct specialties, each differing from the last. Because of the complexity inherent in this class, you may find it difficult to figure out exactly what path to follow. Because of this complexity, you may enjoy the range of choice available for this class.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch "Torchlight." Start a game as the "Vanquisher."

    • 2

Decide whether you wish to fight from a distance or up close. You have to choose so that you can specialize in one or the other. Committing to one means tat you won't waste skill points going up the wrong skill tree.

    • 3

Use summoned companions if you decide to go down the "Marksman" tree. These companions prevent monsters from getting close to you, so that you can kill them from a disance. Concentrate your skill points into the "Ricochet," "Seeking Shot," "Explosive Shot" and "Arrow Hail" abilities. Do not use the "Frost Pilum" ability. Concentrate on raising your "Armor" attribute by getting better armor and gear.

    • 4

Concentrate on the "Needle Arc," "Stab" and "Hamstring" abilities if you decide to use the "Rogue" tree. Avoid the "Wind of Justice" skill as it is only useful for a short amount of time. You can use the "Venomous Dirks" skill if you plan on acquiring a lot of "+poison" items to enhance their effectiveness. As with the "Marksman," concentrate on raising your "Armor" value. Keep on the move, as you can't take much damage.

    • 5

Place points into only two of the available traps for the "Arbiter" tree during the beginning portion of your game. If you attempt to use them all, your points are spread too thin and you won't deal the damage that you might have otherwise. Trap skills gain benefits from others, so concentrating early on focuses their damage. Only begin to place points into "Devouring Trap" later in the game, as it won't become useful until then. As an "Arbiter," you will want to concentrate on increasing your maximum available mana in order to use your abilities more often.
