Partners
One of the tricks to having a successful conversation with a Ouija board is to choose the right partners. Be sure that everyone who is participating has a positive attitude as well as an open mind. Negative attitudes or ridicule may cause the board to not work. It is important that only a manageable number of people are working with the Ouija board. Keep the number to less than four people, but two partners is usually ideal.
Place
Another trick to using the Ouija board is to use it in the perfect place. The board should be used in a place that is comfortable and familiar to you --- not a hostile place, such as a graveyard. A user is more likely to have a positive experience and conversation with a spirit if communication takes place on his own turf. In addition, using a Ouija board in a home or other place of comfort will make the person less apt to be a target for negative spirits.
Communicating
To begin communication with a Ouija board, a user should always remember to start the conversation out properly. To begin speaking, she should ask the Ouija board "Ouija, are you there?" until movement is felt on the planchette. Be sure to show respect to the spirit who communicates with you, and ask simple and direct questions. Be sure to take communication seriously, as laughing and giggling tends to aggravate and irritate spirits and may halt communication altogether.
Saying Goodbye
It is important that when the group is finished conversing with the spirit that the conversation is properly ended. The trick to doing this is to tell the spirit goodbye first, and then wait for the planchette to move over the word "Goodbye." If a proper goodbye is not performed, it may give the spirit the opportunity to stay within the room and home. This is also a sign of respect for the spirit as well.
