Instructions for UNO Blitzo

Uno Blitzo is the fast-paced successor to the original Uno by Mattel. Uno Blitzo introduces a new generation to the classic card game by replacing the deck of cards with an electronic console with flashing lights and buttons, but the same rules and strategy apply to both. Mattel has included four levels of difficulty, making Uno Blitzo accessible to anyone age 7 or older.

Instructions

    • 1

Unscrew the back panel of the Uno Blitzo console with a Phillips screwdriver and insert three AA batteries. Turn on the power; the single player buttons will light up.

    • 2

Select the number of players by pressing the corresponding number button. Then select the difficulty level. The difficulty is measured from one to four, easiest to most difficult. Increasing the level of difficulty will increase the penalties for slow or misplayed cards. At levels one through three, the difficulty is increased in regards to how much time a player has to play a card and for misplayed cards; however, at level four, Uno Blitzo adds a new element. Randomly, the console will play sounds, including the Uno Blitzo sound. When this occurs, the player must press the Uno button, or receive a penalty.

    • 3

Press the center Uno button twice; the first time will signal the "Instant Uno" sound, the second will begin the game. The player whose player light illuminates begins the game. All four lights on each player's section will be lit.

    • 4

Listen to the command from the Uno Blitzo console. Press the button that corresponds with the Uno Blitzo command. If the player is correct, the light will go out.

    • 5

Press the "Command Card" if you cannot make a move; this will pass the play to the next player. The Command Card is located on the side of each player's station. A player can press the "Command Card" if he doesn't want to play a card, even if a move is available. In addition, this button is used when a "Reverse," "Skip," "Draw" or "Wild Card" is played.

    • 6

Press the "Uno" button if you have two cards remaining, prior to playing your second-to-last card. Uno Blitzo will declare "Uno." If a player fails to press the Uno button before playing his second-to-last card, any other player can call him on it, and Uno Blitzo will add "cards" to his hand (unlit buttons will illuminate).

    • 7

Win the hand by being the first player to play all cards. The winner of the game is the player who wins four different hands.
