Colorama
Practice colors and shapes in one game with Colorama. On each turn, the player rolls her dice to find out which color and shape she must match, for example red triangle, blue square or yellow circle. Then she must find that spot on the board game and fit the appropriate piece. The game ends when the game board is filled with all of the shape pieces. The game also has two other ways to play included in the rules. One player can play by herself or six players can join in the fun.
Shapes Up
Ready, set, go. With Shapes Up, you want to be the first player to complete your square by collecting multicolored squares and triangles. Set the hourglass timer to begin the game. Roll the die to earn a shape each turn. If your die lands on the hand symbol, you get to steal your desired shape from an opponent. Made by Educational Insights Kidology, Shapes Up is for two to four players and is recommended for players 8 and older.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar Game
Based on the classic Eric Carle book, the shapes in this game are the various foods the very hungry caterpillar must eat on his journey from an egg to a colorful butterfly. Players spin the spinner to move along the game and collect their food pieces. Beware of landing on the night dial; the very hungry caterpillar can only eat during the day. Recommended for ages 3 and up, two to four players can play this game.
Twister
Twister is a game that gets kids of all ages "tied up in knots" as they place their hands and feet on the colored circles on the playing mat. A "referee" spins the spinner and calls out the directions for which hand or foot must be placed on which color of circle. The floor mat is made up of four colors: green, yellow, blue and red, with six circles in each colored row. Twister can be played indoors or outdoors with two to four players.
