Children's Spelling Games

Spelling games are a great way to help children increase their spelling skills, vocabulary and reading skills. Playing board games gives parents the opportunity to interact with their children and assist them with improving their spelling skills. There are many different types of spelling board games that you can play with your children.
  1. Spelling Beez

    • This a board game made by Aristoplay for children 4 to 8 years old. You can play this spelling game with one to four players. In the game, you travel around the board collecting letters to make words. There are two different levels of play, so this game can challenge younger children as well as older children. This board game also teaches children interesting facts about honeybees.

    Match & Spell

    • This board game was created by Briarpatch for children 4 years old and up. This game is played with a child and an adult. The child matches pictures on the cards to pictures found on the game board. Next, the child flips the card over where he will find letters that he can match on the game board. The child then spells the word aloud as he places the letters on the board.

    My First Word Puzzles

    • This board game for children 4 to 8 years old is made by Ravensburger. The spelling game can be played with up to five players. This game has a lot of mini puzzles. Once the child puts the puzzle together correctly, she will find a picture and the word associated with that picture. This will teach children how to spell and read by seeing the word and being able to associate a picture with the word.
