Game Setup:
* Cards: Use a standard 52-card deck.
* Players: 4 players.
* Dealing: Each player receives 13 cards.
Objective:
* The objective of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards.
Gameplay:
1. First Turn: The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by playing any card.
2. Matching Ranks: The next player must play a card of the same rank (number or face value). For example, if the first player plays a 7 of hearts, the next player must play any 7.
3. Building the Discard Pile: The played card is placed face-up on the discard pile.
4. Matching Suits: If a player cannot play a card of the same rank, they can play a card of the same suit as the top card on the discard pile.
5. Calling "Kibbs!": When a player can't play a card of the same rank or suit, they call out "Kibbs!" to indicate that they are unable to play.
6. "Kibbs" Actions:
* Player to the left: The player to the left of the "Kibbs" caller can then choose to:
* Take the discard pile: They take the entire discard pile, adding it to their hand.
* Play a card: They play a card of any rank or suit.
7. Continuing the Game: Play continues until one player has no cards left.
8. Game End: The player who gets rid of all their cards first wins the game.
Key Differences from 3-Player Kibbs:
* Discard Pile: The way the discard pile is handled in 4-player Kibbs is different from the 3-player version. In 3-player, you have two separate discard piles, one for each suit. In 4-player, you have a single discard pile for all cards.
* "Kibbs" Action: In 3-player, the player who calls "Kibbs" can also choose to take the discard pile. In 4-player, only the player to their left can take the discard pile.
Strategy:
* Try to get rid of cards of the same rank.
* Be careful about calling "Kibbs!" as you could potentially give a large hand to the next player.
* Pay attention to the cards played and the discard pile to anticipate which cards your opponents may have.
Enjoy playing Kibbs!
