Mac Brick Vs. Brick Draw3D

Building blocks are enduring childhood toys because they allow kids to engage their imaginations and create miniature representations of objects and structures they see in daily life. Nowadays, of course, there are many digital platforms that use software to recreate all the fun of building blocks. You can piece together virtual objects to render all sorts of models, both realistic and fantastic. Two of the leading programs are MacBrick and BrickDraw3D.
  1. Mac Brick

    • MacBrick is a game from the Soft and Fun publishing company, available on any 7.1 (or later) Macintosh. It allows you to build and render your own objects, and the game can be played alone or with others. MacBrick includes 120 levels, and even gives you the opportunity to create more levels of your own design. According to LGDraw.com, MacBrick is not only a fun game, but an easy one to use, even for people who've never played it before.

Speed and Control with Mac Brick

    • MacBrick has the fastest rendering capabilities of any program compatible with Mac. Part of this speed is attributable to the fact that MacBrick has so many parts already built into the program, so when you're rendering something there's a good chance you won't have to create the entire design from scratch. Additionally, LDraw.org praises the ease of use of the MacBrick program. You have at your disposal many ways to control the views of the objects you're rendering, so you can see them from practically any angle. You can even use your mouse to rotate any and all parts of your rendering. Full screen editing is also available.

    BrickDraw3D

    • BrickDraw3D is a similar program to MacBrick in that you can use it to create virtual models. Its files include a window that lists all available parts, a series of plugins that provide rendering tools, and a web browser. Version 0.4 of BrickDraw3D allows users to find lists of parts and then graft parts from that list onto the renderings they're working on. And the blocks themselves look like larger versions of the blocks that the Lego toy company manufacturers. Further, this program allows you to save your models.

    Comparing MacBrick and BrickDraw3D

    • MacBrick and BrickDraw3D both have their fans, and both offer a fully-realized digital rendering experience. In the end, personal preference is the biggest factor in choosing one of these programs over the other. For some, the ease of use and fast speed of MacBrick, as LDraw.org describes them, makes MacBrick the superior program. Other people, however, may prefer the familiarity of BrickDraw3D's visual style; people who grew up playing with Legos might be especially fond of this program. Still others might find choosing between the two programs too difficult, and these people would probably be best served by purchasing and using both programs!
