Skunk Games

Skunks are mammals that defend themselves by spraying people and animals with a foul-smelling distinctive scent that can take a household of remedies to get rid of. When teaching a skunk-themed lesson to children, you can create games for them to play. Since no skunk-specific games are available, put a twist on classic party games by incorporating the black and white mammals into the fun.
  1. Easy Games

    • For an educational game, print several pictures of skunks in different colors. Write the names of the colors on slips of paper and place them in a cup. Scatter the pictures on the ground and play music. Once the music stops, tell the children to stand on a color. Draw a color from the cup and the player standing on that color wins a prize. For a variation, use numbers or letter on the skunk pictures.

    Tossing Games

    • Take a green poster board and tape it to the bottom of a cardboard box. Use a green marker to draw grass on the poster board and cut a hole in the middle. Lean the box against a wall or pole. Children can try to toss small plush skunks through the hole. If you cannot find plush skunks, decorate black beanbags to resemble skunks and have the children toss the beanbags. You can also let the children try to toss the skunks through hula hoops hanging from a tree or clothesline for an outdoor activity.

    Paper Games

    • Print skunk dot-to-dot puzzles and coloring pages from online. Award prizes to the children who can correctly complete the puzzle in the fastest amount of time. Have a coloring contest by giving each child a skunk coloring page. They can use colors and markers to color the picture. Award prizes for the best and most creative pictures. For added fun, have the children try to freehand draw a picture of a skunk and award a prize for the best drawing.

    Classic Games

    • Instead of playing a game of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey," play a game of "Pin the Tail on the Skunk" or "Pin the Skunk in the Field." Put a twist on the classic "Hot Potato" with a game of "Hot Skunk." Have the children sit in a circle and pass a plush toy skunk around the circle while music plays. The player holding the skunk when the music stops is out of the game. The last player remaining in the game wins the plush toy skunk. You can also play "Musical Skunks" instead of "Musical Chairs" by taping pictures of skunks to the back of the chairs while playing.
