Coloring and Drawing Contest
Hold a drawing and coloring contest for teens to draw their favorite rock star or musical group. Set out paper, crayons, colored pencils and charcoal pencils for the teens to get to work. The picture must accurately represent the rock star or group so that the other teens can identify the picture, such a Steven Tyler on "American Idol" or the Beatles crossing Abbey Road. Set the drawings on a table when they are done and have the teens guess the pictures and who drew them.
Fashion Design
Teenagers who are interested in fashion can play a game of fashion design and make a book from their creations. Set the teenagers up with card stock and colored pencils and upload or draw a silhouette of a person onto the card stock. Using the pencils, the teenagers can style their silhouettes into paper fashionistas. Set the drawings out and let everyone vote for the best outfit, and then bind the silhouettes and drawings into a book with a hole punch and ribbon. To make the game more challenging, give each teenager specific items to draw -- such as a green shirt, yellow handbag, brown shoes and purple scarf -- that they must fashion into an outfit on paper.
Invisible Ink
Have teenagers write a message to each other with invisible ink. Give each teen a small serving of lemon juice, paintbrush and plain, white paper. Using the brush, have them write a message in lemon juice to one another. Let the paper dry before passing it to a friend. The friend must use wax crayons to color over the lemon juice to reveal the secret message.
Cell Phone Backdrop
Give each teen a piece of white paper and crayons or colored pencils. The purpose of the game is for each teen to fill the piece of paper with a drawing or pattern. When the drawings are complete, lay them out on a flat surface to view. The teens must vote on the most creative drawing and take a picture of the drawing with their camera on the phone. The drawing must remain as their backdrop for one week.
