Games About the American Revolution That Are Free to Play

Kids will learn about how the United States came to be by playing games about the American Revolution. Playing games teaches children of all ages about the different people and events during this significant historical event. Free online games not only test kids' knowledge about the American Revolution by answering questions or looking at pictures, but may teach them something new as well.
  1. "The Road to Revolution"

    • PBS's "The Road to Revolution" is a trivia game that tests your knowledge about the American Revolution. The object of the game is to answer the multiple-choice questions to learn about the events in history that led to the American Revolution. Each time you answer correctly, you can read a short fact about the correct answer as well as access links to websites where you can find out more about the answer your chose. When you answer incorrectly, you keep on playing until you choose the correct answer. Points are not scored in this game.

"Label the American Revolution Timeline" and "American Revolution Terms"

    • NeoK2 has two games that you can play about the American Revolution. "Label the American Revolution Timeline" is played by dragging and dropping each of the 10 labels onto the correct dot on the timeline. For example, you score a point if you drag "Washington Wins Battle of Princeton" on the correct image on the timeline. In the vocabulary game "American Revolution Terms," a word appears on the screen and you have to decide whether it's related to the American Revolution by clicking the "yes" or "no" button on the screen. Choose the correct answer and a definition of the word relating to the Revolution appears. You score one point each time you answer one of the 20 words correctly.

    "The American Revolution Hangman"

    • With "The American Revolution Hangman" by A Kid's Heart, you either beat the puzzle in 60 seconds or lose the game if you play and have 10 wrong guesses. A timer counts down as you choose from letters that appear on the screen. If you guess 10 letters incorrectly, the correct answer appears. Whether you answer correctly, use your 10 guesses, or the time runs out, you can still play a new game each time.

    "Mystery Guest"

    • Play Liberty's Kids' "Mystery Guest," a game where you guess the famous person from the American Revolution through a series of clues. You're given three clues to try to guess each mystery person from the Revolution. You're given a chance to guess the name of the person after each clue that appears on the screen or wait until all three clues are revealed. Choose to play again each time you answer correctly or incorrectly.
