Coloring
Most children enjoy bringing pictures to life with their crayons. But with a variety of coloring books and tools, it can be even more fun. Start with a few different coloring books, including themes and characters that your child likes and is familiar with. Instead of using just crayons, give your child markers, pencils and chalk along with a blank pad. The combination of coloring books, different coloring tools and blank paper will keep your little one entertained and allow for some creativity as well.
Movie Marathon
Sometimes being stuck in bed is the perfect excuse for a movie marathon. If there is a favorite children's movie that has more than one sequel, play the films back to back and let your child watch it all the way through. For example, the "Toy Story" trilogy.
Collages
Collages are a creative activity that can make long afternoon hours fly by. All you need are some old newspapers, magazines, scissors, glue and a poster board or a piece of cardboard. Let your child spend time cutting out pictures, letters and words and gluing them on to the board. Your little artist can create her own collage while being stuck in bed, and when feeling better, she can hang it up on the wall.
Board Games, Cards and Puzzles
Board games, cards and puzzles are a wonderful activity when you're stuck in bed because the games are time consuming and still fun. Puzzles can keep children busy for hours and card games are perfect for a few family members to play. Board games are a great activity even when you're not stuck in bed, but if you are, Monopoly, Scrabble or Uno will make being in bed a little more enjoyable.
