Outside: Hide-and-Seek
Hide-and-seek is a favorite game of most children. Decide on a "seeker," and have that child close his eyes and count to 50 while the other children run and hide. For safety, clearly establish a perimeter in which they are allowed to hide before you begin playing. Once the counter gets to 50, let him uncover his eyes and seek to find the rest of the children. The first child found can be the counter in the next game.
Outside: Capture the Flag
First, to ensure their safety, establish a border the children are not allowed to cross. Divide the children into two teams. Within the teams, decide who will play defense and who will play offense. Hide a flag on each team's side of the playing field. The defense guards its own flag while the offense runs to the other side of the field and tries to find and grab the other team's flag. If someone playing defense tags someone playing offense while the offensive player is on the defender's side of the field, that offensive player is out of that round of the game. Whichever team captures the flag of the opposing team first wins.
Inside: Sock Wrestling
Have all of the children sit in a circle and take off their shoes but leave their socks on. Assign each child a number. Scramble these numbers and pick two at random. The two children with these numbers have to go to the middle of the circle and, for 30 seconds, try to take each other's socks. Make sure the two kids sit and remain on pillows so they do not accidentally hurt themselves. Proceed until all of the children have had a turn.
Inside: Hot Potato
Organize all of the children in a circle and give one child a small ball. This ball will serve as the "hot potato." Have the children pass this ball around as fast as they can, to the music of a favorite song. Stop the music abruptly, and whoever is holding the ball at this point is out. When the game gets down to four children, have the kids stand in pairs across from each other and toss the ball.
