Kid Bat Games

Oftentimes, kids take an interest in subjects you wouldn't normally expect. Sometimes, those subjects include some of the odder animals on the planet, such as bats. If you have a party coming up or your child simply wants to play games pertaining to all things bats, plan out some perfect bat games just for him.
  1. Shrieking Bats

    • Play this bat-themed game by instructing children to stand in a circle. Tell them they have become bats and have to keep their heads down and close their eyes to pretend they're in a cave together. Then, count down from 10. When you say "one!" the bats all lift their heads up and stare at another person of their choice in the group. If two players stare directly at each other, they shriek in their best bat impressions and leave the game. Continue the game until all of the players but two remain, thereby winning the game.

    Going through the Cave

    • Show your child how cramped a bat cave can get with this group game. First, divide the children into two equally-numbered teams. Line each of the teams up into single-file lines. Tell all of the players to spread their legs hip-distance apart. When you say "go," the last players in each line quickly crawl through the other children's legs (the "bat cave") until they reach the front of the line. As soon as the player reaches the front, the new last player in line does the same. The first team to form the same line as when they started wins the game.

    Blind as a Bat

    • As bats normally don't see much light during the day, show your children the disabilities bats face by playing this relay game. Prior to the game, set up two small obstacle courses, one next to the other. Begin by dividing the kids into two teams. Line the teams up behind their respective obstacle courses. Blindfold the first players in line. When you say "go," the first players have to maneuver their way to the end of the obstacle course and back by using their other senses. Once a player returns to his team's line, the next player in line takes her turn. The first team to have all its members back in line after completing the course wins the game.
