Makeup Games for Girls & Boys

Playing "dress up" has been a favorite pastime for children for hundreds of years, and using makeup has often been part of the game. Young boys, though perhaps not interested in being frilly and pretty, have enjoyed different types of makeup games as well, such as army games requiring camouflage makeup. In today's more accepting society, men wearing makeup is becoming more acceptable and this has led to many more makeup games for children of both genders.

- Many little girls enjoy playing with makeup. Watching moms and other female elders apply cosmetics often inspires young girls to play "dress up." For traditional makeup play, allow your little girl to spend an hour or two with your old, discarded cosmetics to make herself---or you---over.
  
  With the internet, girls have newer (and less messy) options when it comes to makeup games. - Emo trends have made makeup games more socially acceptable for boys.
  
  As the "emo" fashion trend gains popularity, boys and girls can enjoy playing with makeup together---and wearing it in public. Some virtual emo makeover games are non-gender-specific and may be enjoyed by both boys and girls. These free online games allow boys and girls to create different makeup styles and techniques by applying eye shadow and liner, eyelashes, lipsticks and hair color to a blank-faced character on their computer screen.
