Halloween Classroom Games for 5th Graders

Every 5th grader loves Halloween. Whether you're a teacher or a parent, creative holiday games are an exciting way to prepare for Halloween. Games also allow kids to exercise their bodies and minds in a creative way. Try these great ideas from Billy Bear for Kids to get your kids off the couch and interested in Halloween.
  1. Candy Corn Drop

    • The Candy Corn Drop is a kid favorite. 5th graders stand on a chair and drop candy corn into a jar on the floor beneath them. As they become comfortable dropping the candy, use a jar with a smaller mouth.

    Hot Broom

    • This version of Hot Potato utilizes a broom. Sit the kids in a circle and play Halloween music as they pass the witches broom. When the music stops, the child holding the broom is out.

    Mummy Wrap

    • Divide your 5th graders into two teams. Each team will choose one child to be the mummy. When you say "go," each team will wrap their mummy as fast as they can. The team to wrap their mummy the fastest wins.

    Halloween Hangman

    • Teach your students how to spell Halloween terms with this festive remake of a traditional game. Rather than hanging a man, draw a pumpkin instead and, as they guess wrong letters, draw a face on the pumpkin until the pumpkin's face is complete. If the students guess the word before the pumpkin's face is done, they win.
