Bible Quiz Challenge
This is a great game for a teen bible study group to play. Separate the groups into two teams. Have each team read and study the chapter or verses that you've assigned. After 15 minutes of reading and discussion, have the teams put their study materials away. Give each team a bell or buzzer to signal when they know the answer. The leaders should then ask the teams a pre-set number of questions about the chapter they have just learned. The team who signals first answers. If they are wrong, the second team gets a chance to answer. The team who gets the most answers correct wins. This is a fun way for teens to memorize Bible facts and still have fun indoors.
Animal Identify
First, have teens write on a piece of paper the animal that they most identify with: Eagle, Lion, Unicorn, or Dolphin. Then, have them form groups with the peers who chose the same animal and provide them with a list of ice breaker questions, for example:
Why did you choose this particular animal?
What characteristic of this animal do you identify with most?
What do you enjoy most about being a Christian?
What aspect of Christianity confuses you the most?
Although the answers may differ, have the group write a paragraph that collectively describes their answers to these questions and have them share. This is a great indoor activity for team building as well as getting to know other group members.
Teen Knot
This critical thinking activity requires participation from all members, so this could be a great choice if there are several shy members in the group. Instruct everyone to stand in a tight bunch, facing several directions. Each person puts both hands out and randomly takes the hand of another member, which creates a giant knot. There will probably be a lot of giggling at this point. Then, encourage the teens to use communication to untangle themselves without letting go of hands. This activity is also a great icebreaker for newly formed groups and can lay the foundation for Christian team building in the future.
