Pick the jar up, if possible. Hold the jar above your head and count the number of jelly beans on the bottom of the jar. If you cannot pick the jar up, try counting the top layer of jelly beans.
Count the number of rows from top to bottom. Since the jelly beans are not in straight rows, this may be difficult. Your best estimation will suffice.
Multiply the number of jelly beans in the top or bottom layer by the number of rows up the side. For example, if you counted 50 jelly beans on the bottom layer and 20 rows up the side, you can estimate that the jar contains 1,000 jelly beans.
