Fun Blindfold Games

Pin the tail on the donkey is a classic and fun blindfold game and one of several in which a participant completes--or attempts--a task without being able to see. There is something about trying to do things with your eyes covered that makes things just a bit more fun. Whether at a birthday party, bachelor party, baby shower or anniversary, you can adapt these games for all ages and occasions.
  1. Kiss the Poster

    • A poster of someone is hung up on a wall. The party guests each apply a different color lipstick, have their eyes covered and take turns kissing the poster. The guest who kisses closest to the mouth of the person on the poster wins the poster and/or another prize. The poster can be the favorite celebrity of a teenage girl, the husband of a bride-to-be or any other person specific to the party.

    Transfer the Cotton Ball

    • Place two chairs five feet apart facing the same direction. Place a pot on each chair, one empty and one filled with cotton balls. Blindfold one person, give him a large spoon or ladle, and spin him around a few times. Give him a certain amount of time to see how many cotton balls he can transfer with the spoon from one pot to the other. Repeat for all participants. The one who transfers the most cotton balls wins.

    Squeal, Piggy, Squeal

    • All guests except two sit in a circle. One of the two is the moderator, while the other stands in the middle of the circle blindfolded and holding a pillow. The moderator plays some music and counts to 10. The person in the middle turns around in circles, and the others quietly move around the circle, switching places. When the music stops, everyone sits and the person blindfolded sets his pillow on someones lap and says, "Squeal, piggy, squeal!" The person squeals, and the blindfolded player must guess who it is. If he guesses right, they switch places; if he is wrong, he is in the middle again.

    Shoe Search

    • Guests pair up. One person in each pair is blindfolded. The other person removes his shoe and throws it into a pile in the middle. The blindfolded guest searches for the other person's shoe, and her seeing partner can only give verbal clues, such as, "That is not my shoe!" After the blindfolded player finds the shoe, she must go back to her partner and put the shoe back on him. The first to complete the task wins.

    What Smells?

    • Fill several plastic storage containers each with a substance with a distinct or not-so-distinct smell, like toothpaste, tomato sauce, stinky socks, coffee grinds and bananas. In turn, blindfold each guest and give him a chance to smell each item. After he smells the items, he writes down what he smelled on a piece of paper. The person with the most correct guesses wins.

    Peg the Partners

    • Guests partner up. One person gets blindfolded and is given a softball. The other player in the pair leads her around by the arm and gives her instructions on how to throw the ball to hit another blindfolded person. The blindfolded player who receives a hit picks up the ball and throws it at another person with a blindfold on--and so on. The seeing partner can guide his teammate with his voice about how to defend herself. If a team is hit twice, that pair is out of the game. The last team standing wins.
