How to Make Your Own Pin the Candle on the Cupcake Game

Felt
Scissors
Straight pins
Felt glue
Polyester fiberfill

Instructions

  Cut one piece of felt 20 inches wide by 26 inches long. Cut one cloud shape out of felt that measures 10 inches wide by 6 inches tall. For the cupcake wrapper cut one 7 inch by 5 inch piece of felt. For each of the candles, cut two pieces of felt 4 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. For every candle cut a flame 1 inch tall and 1 inch wide with a point at the tip. You will need at least 10 candles to play the game.

  Place your large piece of felt with long side vertical and shorter side horizontal on a table. Measure four inches from the bottom of the felt, mark location with a straight pin. Glue the cupcake wrapper in place 6 1/2 inches from the sides. Slightly overlapping the wrapper, glue the cloud shape on top.

  Place two 4 inch by 1 1/2 inch pieces of felt together and insert the flame. Glue around edge leaving room for stuffing. Let glue dry, then gently stuff candle with polyester fiberfill. Finish gluing around edge. Hand stitch or glue Velcro "hook side out" to the back of the candles. Make nine more in a variety of colors.

  Paint six vertical stripes 1 inch apart on the cupcake wrapper. Paint "Happy Birthday" above the cupcake. Hang on the wall with tacks, or glue a dowel to the felt attach ribbon and hang.
