Icebreaker
Make sure that everyone knows each other. Women like to chat, but if there are guests at your women's party who haven't been introduced, you might want to do an icebreaker to keep familiar cliques from forming among those who already are acquainted. A great game for this is the Blanket Name Game. To play this game, divide the group into two teams. Have two people hold a blanket between the two teams. Have each team pick one person to stand up behind the blanket. Drop the blanket. The first team to shout out the name of the other team's person wins the round. You can give prizes for each round won, or you can give a prize to the members of the team that wins the most rounds.
Movement
Get everyone moving. This prevents people from getting "stuck in corners"--i.e., people won't stay doing the same thing with the same people for the whole party. One game you can use to do this is the Dress the Booty Dance. To play this game, divide the group into two teams and create two piles of clothing and costume items such as shoes, wigs, ponchos, sunglasses, hats and skirts. Pick one person from each team. Play some fun music with a danceable beat. As the music plays, have the two people from the teams dance in competition with each other and put on items from the pile according to a theme of your choice (e.g., tropical, Hollywood). Limit the time the music plays to only one or two minutes. Then stop the music and have two or three people judge who has dressed the best. Rotate players until everyone has dressed up. If this is done right, the women will have a great time shakin' it and making their team members have a laugh. This is a good game if you like to appeal to women's love of fashion.
Creativity and Cooperation
Play games that make everyone contribute something creatively. The point of this is to cooperate in order to emphasize that everyone at the women's party can work together, and that the creativity of each woman can make an amazing whole result. A game for this is Hodgy Podgy. This is like a combination of the Alphabet Game and Mad Libs. Have a leader start the group in a clap and snap combination (clap twice, then snap twice in rhythm). The leader will say just one word. With play rotating in whatever direction you want, have the next player tack on a word. Continue adding words until you have a sentence, or at least until players end up laughing at their word combinations.
