Twister Game Tips

Everyone loves the game of Twister, the game of chance and balance that requires you to contort into twisted positions based on the outcome of one spin on a colored wheel. Unfortunately, the game that you enjoyed so often in childhood doesn't seem to have much of a place in your adult life. However, Twister can be enjoyed by adults, you just have to find a way to make the game a little more complicated. There are various adult versions of Twister, and the opportunities are endless if you just put your own "twist" on the game.
  1. Strip Twister

    • Play the strip version of Twister with an even number of players, and divide the group into teams of two. Also, make sure that each person is wearing the same number of clothing items so that the game is even. Because only a few people can play on the mat at one time, have one representative from each team play, while the other spins the wheel. After each turn, one item of clothing is removed, so if you become embarrassed, you can forfeit the game by falling. As the player removes the article of clothing, the player can only lift one hand or foot off the mat at a time, which increases the challenge. The winner is the one player left standing, no matter how much clothing he is wearing.

    Drinking Twister

    • Drinking Twister is a fun game to play at a party. The same rules as the typical Twister game apply, however, if a person falls, she must drink one shot or drink. To make the game more interesting, designate a certain type of drink to a color, and an action to each extremity that is used. So "Red" equals 1 shot of Jager, and "Right Foot" equals Drink With No Hands. Either have the player drink with every turn, or only drink when she falls on that turn. After a few games, everyone will be falling anyway.

    Truth or Dare Twister

    • Combine two childhood games, Truth or Dare and Twister, for a truly creative version of Twister. Use a permanent marker to write a different Truth or Dare on each circle. However, remember that the Dares must be something that the player can do while staying on the mat. Some examples are: "Kiss another player," "Do your favorite dance without moving your feet," or "Act out a scene from a movie." Before the player spins, have him choose either Truth or Dare. At first, he will have more of a choice in choosing his circle, but as the game continues, he will randomly have to do the Truth or Dare written on the board. If the player falls during or after her Truth or Dare, she must finish regardless. Identify this rule in advance so that the player doesn't try to fall to get out of the Truth or Dare.
