Team Skit Ideas

Skits are one way to bring kids together in a group setting, whether at camp, school, church or any other social gathering. Skits entertain the kids who make up the audience and help the actors to become comfortable with speaking in front of a large group of people. Using comedy, laughter and silly storytelling, team skits help break the ice in many social situations and teach children how to work together as a group.
  1. Mosquito Attack

    • Have two kids pretend they are camping out for the night. One of them sleeps in the tent and the other sleeps outside. While the first kid is sleeping, the kid outside gets "attacked" by mosquitoes (referring to several kids making buzzing noises and poking at him). The outside child runs into the tent and tells his friend about it, who does not believe him. This happens two or three times until the kid in the tent switches places with the kid sleeping outside. When the mosquitoes come back again, one of them says to the others, "Hey, let's get the chump in the tent instead," and they end up attacking the same kid as before.

    Weee!

    • A group of kids sits on the floor in a line facing the audience. Place the "leader" on one end of the line. The kid on the other end starts the skit by saying to the kid next to him, "Is it time yet?" Each kid repeats the question to the next kid, until the question is asked to the leader. The leader looks at his watch and says, "No, not yet." The kids pass the answer back. The first kid replies, "But I really gotta go wee," and the kids say to each other down the line, "But he's really gotta go wee." The leader replies, "Almost time." The kids pass this response back. The first kid responds, "But I really gotta go wee," shrieking the line unlike before. The others deliver the line in the same shrieking voice to each other, and it eventually reaches the leader. The leader replies, "Okay" and the other kids pass this message down. When the first kid finally hears this response, he gets up and runs off stage yelling, "Weee!"

    Bubble Gum

    • Set a chair mid-stage. One kid enters, pretending to be chewing gum. He sits in a chair that has an opening on the back, takes the imaginary gum from his mouth and sticks it to the back of the chair, and then gets up and leaves. The second kid comes up and sits on the chair, reaches behind him to scratch his back, and portrays finding the piece of gum. Grossed out, he wipes it on the seat of the chair. The third kid walks up, sits in the chair and is stuck by the gum. Disgusted, he peels it off his pants and throws it on the ground. The fourth kid walks up and steps on the gum. He removes it from his shoe and sticks it to the back of the chair. The first kid comes back and sits on the chair, then reaches to find his gum. Happily, he sticks it in his mouth and begins to chew.

    Invisible Bench

    • One kid starts the skit by appearing to sit on an invisible chair. The second kid enters the stage and asks what he's doing. "Sitting on an invisible bench," he replies. The second kid joins in and they start chatting. One by one, each kid in the group enters the stage, asking what the group is doing, and then joins the others on the invisible bench. The final kid enters the stage and asks the same question but replies that he moved the bench "over there" yesterday, pointing far away. The whole group falls to the ground, as if their bench has disappeared.
