How to Play the Naruto Card Game

Like many collectible card games, the Naruto card game has many custom cards, and many complicated rules. Each player will need their own deck to play, which must contain exactly 40 cards. Once you've made a deck for each player, sit down across from your opponent, and be ready to play.

Instructions

    • 1

Build your deck. You must put together a deck of exactly 40 cards, with no more than 25 ninja cards, and no more than 3 of any specific card.

    • 2

Shuffle your deck and draw six cards. If you don't like your hand, you may shuffle it back into your deck and draw five new cards.

    • 3

Start your turn by drawing a card from your deck. This brings you to your Mission phase, where you can play a Mission card, a Ninja card, or charge Chakra. Charge your Chakra by taking a card from your hand and discarding it face-up to your Chakra area behind your deck. You will use this Chakra to play certain cards.

    • 4

Deploy a Ninja by taking a Ninja from your hand and playing it face-up on the table in front of you. The number in the "entrance" star on the card must be no greater than the number of turns you have finished. You may only deploy one Ninja per turn, and may never have more than one Ninja with the same name.

    • 5

Play a Mission card by placing the card into your Chakra area. The number in the "entrance" star on the card must be no greater than the number of turns you have finished. You must also look at the number on the "hand" symbol on the card (next to the star), and discard that many cards from your hand. You then follow the instructions on the Mission card.

    • 6

Organize your face-up Ninja cards into groups. You may then attack with as many of those groups as you like. Your opponent may assign groups of his Ninja to block yours. Add up the total attack power on the Ninja in each group; whichever group has the lower power will take a damage, and be turned sideways to denote "injured" status. If an injured Ninja takes a damage, he is discarded.

    • 7

Score one Battle Point for each of your Ninja groups that is not blocked. Mark the battle point by taking the top card of your opponent's deck and placing it face-down in your victory area.

    • 8

End the game as soon as you have ten battle points, in which case you win, or as soon as your deck is empty. An empty deck means you have lost.
