How to Make a Billiards Cue Case

Pool cues, or cue sticks, can easily be damaged, especially if you play at a professional level where you need to transport your pool cues with you to tournaments or other playing venues. To help protect your cue sticks, you can quickly and easily make a pool cue case using a piece of PVC pipe and some felt.

Things You'll Need

  • PVC pipe
  • PVC cap
  • Handsaw
  • Pen
  • Felt
  • Scissors

Instructions

    • 1

Measure your cue sticks. Most cue sticks are around 58 inches long, but they can vary.

    • 2

Take your PVC pipe and measure a length a few inches longer than your cue sticks. Mark the length with a pen or other marking utensil.

    • 3

Cut the PVC pipe at the mark using a handsaw.

    • 4

Take a PVC cap of the appropriate size for your PVC pipe and lay it down on the felt. Use your pen to trace around the cap. Use scissors to cut out the felt circle.

    • 5

Use a hot glue gun to coat the bottom of the PVC cap with glue. Carefully place the felt circle against the glue and apply light pressure until it sticks. This will create a protective barrier on the bottom of your cue case to prevent damaging the tip of your cues. Secure the cap to your PVC pipe.

    • 6

Cut out a square of felt approximately twice the diameter of the opening of your PVC pipe.

    • 7

Place your cues in the pipe and place the felt square centered on the open end of the pipe. Pull the edges of the felt square around the PVC pipe and secure with the rubber band to keep the cues secured inside the case.
