Classic Duke
While depicted as a rookie recruit in the movie, Conrad Hauser, codename Duke, ranks as the second-in-command under Hawk in standard G.I. Joe continuity. To access Duke's classic uniform from the cartoon and toy line, which features a tan shirt and green pants, press "Left," "Up," "Square," "Up," "Right" and "Triangle" at the start menu. Entering the code correctly produces a "Yo Joe!" sound effect. You can then pick Duke in his classic uniform as a playable character from the character selection screen.
Classic Scarlett
Shana "Scarlett" O'Hara, the first female character in the G.I. Joe line of action figures, is known for her striking red hair and her lethal accuracy with the crossbow. To access Scarlett's classic yellow and grey costume, press "Right," "Up," "Down," "Down" and "Triangle" at the start menu. Again, a "Yo Joe!" sound effect indicates you entered the code correctly, and then classic Scarlett becomes a new selectable character.
Storm Shadow
Cobra's deadly ninja assassin, Storm Shadow dresses in all white, making him the evil counterpart to the heroic Snake Eyes, who dresses in all black. Storm Shadow prefers fighting with a sword or other blade weapon and engages you in combat throughout the game. You must defeat him on the Arctic level, the Desert level and the Jungle level. If victorious on all three occasions, you can then purchase Storm Shadow for 15 points to unlock him as a playable character.
Cobra Missions
After defeating the game, you gain access to special Cobra missions. Completing these missions unlocks Firefly, Cobra's explosives expert and master saboteur; the Baroness, Cobra's intelligence officer and femme fatale; and Destro, a nefarious weapons manufacturer who wears a steel mask over his entire head. Each hidden Cobra character costs 15 points to fully unlock them as playable characters. You can choose to use two Cobra characters on missions or mix one Cobra character with one G.I. Joe character to create some interesting partnerships.
