Equipment
Before meeting the Fatalis, it's wise to stock up on certain weapons and supplies. Since most direct hits from the Fatalis mean instant death no matter what, armor isn't much of a concern. Instead, make certain you come equipped with the Eternal Schism, the Eternal Strife, the Blue Ogre Sword and a blowgun. It also helps to have potions, life powder, whetstones, demon drugs, power seeds, at least five mega juices and at least 10 power juices.
Weaknesses
The Fatalis features a few weak spots you can target. Focusing on the Fatalis' horns can cause the horns to break, allowing you to collect them and sell them later. You can also target the head to tear free one of the Fatalis' eyes, which can also be salvaged for future benefit. Finally, striking the Fatalis in the chest can inflict serious damage, even breaking the chest open. Wait for the Fatalis to flinch from an attack to the leg and then launch a combo attack to the chest for optimum damage.
Wall Glitch
In the 50-minute quest, the Black Fatalis often falls prey to a glitch that causes it to hug the wall and continually strike the wall with its belly. Take full advantage and attack the Fatalis from behind, repeatedly targeting its right leg with Eternal Strife. Even though this method doesn't pose much risk, it still requires patience and determination to achieve victory, with some battles lasting upwards of 40 minutes.
Round Glitch
You can fight the Fatalis in either a 50-minute quest or in a series of 15-minute rounds. Opt for the 15-minute rounds and simply repel the Fatalis for the first three or four rounds, which means you inflict enough damage to cause the Fatalis to flee without killing it. Start the next round but then abandon it. Now, start the 50-minute quest. The Fatalis will have the same depleted health it had from the previous 15-minute round, but now you have a dull 50 minutes to finish the kill.
