How to Build a Hopper

Airsoft gun enthusiasts are often frustrated by the small storage capacity of their gun's hopper. You can build an environmentally appropriate hopper for your airsoft gun from recycled plastic bottles. Gun hoppers prevent you from stopping to reload as frequently as you need during a shooting match, which can provide a competitive advantage over your opponent. Decrease or enlarge hopper size by choosing different quantity bottles. It's easy to remove and replace connector rings if a different bottle does not fit the attached ring.

Things You'll Need

  • 16.9-oz. water bottle with lid
  • Pocket knife
  • Hot glue
  • Airsoft gun
  • Airsoft pellets
  • Electrical tape

Instructions

    • 1

      Carve out the center of the plastic bottle cap with a knife to form a plastic ring.

      Attach the plastic bottle cap ring to the opening of the gun where you load the pellets and secure with hot glue.

      Fill the plastic bottle about halfway with airsoft pellets. Raise the airsoft gun in the air and screw the bottle into the ring connector. Hold the gun and bottle sideways so the pellets do not fall out of the hopper.

      Reinforce the hopper connection with a layer of electrical tape wrapped once around the water bottle and airsoft gun loading point.
