Guadalcanal Landing Tips for Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII

In the "Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII" computer game, you get to play as an air squadron and you have an artificially intelligent wingman with special skills. With the AI pilot, you fly 20 missions, and as you make your way through the game must work as a team. The game uses actual World War II sites in England, France, Morocco and the Pacific. When landing in Guadalcanal, some cheats will help.
  1. Landing

    • Near the landing strip at Guadalcanal you'll see an invasion force. This is the last of these forces in the game. When you destroy all of the tanks in the area, don't go after any other targets. Flak will still be exploding all around but land your airplane. Once you've landed, wait out the flak explosions.

    Commands

    • Once your plane has landed, an enemy plane will try to destroy you. When this happens, have your squadron use both the defensive and the attack modes. When these modes are finished, you can switch to a fresh plane.

    Flak

    • When you are first trying to land in Guadalcanal, you are only going to get a couple of chances to land the plane before the flak explosions begin. Do your best to land successfully or you will have to restart this part of the game.

    Crash

    • A trick you can use if you don't succeed in landing your plane with the few chances you have is to intentionally crash your airplane. If you do this before the flak mode can start, the Guadalcanal part of the game will still have to restart but when it does you will be directly above the landing area and not sent back to the beginning of the level.
