Dolphin Island
This Nintendo DS game is set at a marine park, with the player tasked with caring for a bunch of animals, including dolphins as well as turtles and whales. Players learn about the various species in the game, and must keep up-to-date on the health and happiness of each creature. The smooth running of the marine park and the shows put on are also an important consideration.
Dolphin Mania
In this card game, each player plays tricks from her hand, with the aim of scoring the most points on each turn and beating the tricks played by opponents. The game utilizes a number of animal-based cards, each of which is worth a number; for example, the dolphin is the highest scoring card at 12 points, while a pelican is only worth one point.
Dolphin Training Game
This game plays out over a board depicting an island, where an academy is located. The board features multiple basins in which dolphins can be found. Players attempt to teach their dolphins tricks, such as the tail-walk. To succeed, each player must correctly answer trivia questions from a bank containing more than 200 cards.
Divin' Dolphins
This board game is based around a tray, which contains four cups and many colored marbles. The aim of the game is to collect as many marbles as possible, by utilizing a dolphin grabber. Each player uses the grabber to pick up the marbles that correspond to the color of his cup, and places them in the cup as quickly as he can.
Echolocation
This classroom game is based around a dolphin's echolocation ability, and requires supervision by an adult. The adult blindfolds one player, who becomes the dolphin and sits in the center of the classroom. The other students, the fish, then move around the dolphin, until the adult calls stop. On that command, the fish move to the closest corner. The dolphin then claps twice -- recreating an echo -- and all fish respond in kind. The dolphin must use these sounds to choose which corner the most fish are standing at. Any fish in that corner are then eliminated. Play resumes, and the last fish to survive is the dolphin in the next game.
Ecco the Dolphin Games
The original "Ecco the Dolphin" game, available on the Sega Mega Drive system, has since spawned multiple sequels across various gaming consoles. The object of these games is to guide the titular character around a marine environment, avoiding enemies such as octopi. Players must navigate tunnels and depths to locate clues and other dolphins to progress, while keeping an eye on Ecco's air meter, which can run out if the player doesn't return to the surface for air regularly.
