What Are Some Cool Games to Play at a Bonfire That I Am Throwing?

Add some more excitement to your bonfire party by playing some cool games. Suitable for all ages, these games will raise your heartbeat and get the adrenalin following. Later when the fire dies down and the marshmallow bags are opened, play a more relaxing game, such as Telephone, that will make everybody laugh and your bonfire party won't soon be forgotten.
  1. Bewitched

    • One person, the witch, hides from the rest of the players, who count to 50 by the bonfire, which is home. Once they reach 50, they walk away from the bonfire singing: "The witch ain't out tonight. The witch ain't out tonight." Whenever the witch feels like it she tries to catch as many players as possible as they run back to home. The caught players also become witches and hide. The last person not bewitched wins.

    Spotlight

    • You will need a couple of flashlights for this game of stealth. Two people are assigned a flashlight and have to protect an allocated home base, such as a tree. The other players attempt to reach the home base without getting caught in the beam of the flashlight. If players are caught they are jailed in another area separate from home base and can be released to re-enter the game by players still free.

    Telephone

    • Towards the end of the night when things are starting to slow down and people are sitting around the fire, Telephone is a fun game to play. One person thinks of a short sentence and whispers it into her neighbour's ear. The neighbour quietly repeats what he heard to a person beside him. The message gets passed around the entire circle back to the origin point where the last person repeats out loud what she heard. It often becomes hilariously garbled or misheard.

    Sleeping Ninja

    • Sleeping Ninja is a game of stealth perfect for playing outdoors at night. A person sits blindfolded with a knife stuck in the dirt in front of him. The other players attempt to sneak up and steal the knife. If the ninja hears anything, he points toward the origin of the sound. If he points at someone, that person has to walk away and begin again. The person who steals the knife becomes the new sleeping ninja. For safety, use a pretend knife or stand-in object without sharp edges.
