Egg Hunt
Fill several white plastic Easter eggs with small yellow pompoms. Place a different amount in each egg. Tell the class that farm chickens laid eggs all over the classroom and they have to help pick them up. Give them each a small brown paper sack to collect the eggs. After they finish, have them empty their eggs on their desks. Tell the students to open their eggs and count the "yolks" inside. The student with the most egg yolks wins the game. You can also allow the students to open the eggs one at a time, so everyone can count the egg "yolks" together.
Funny Chicken
Tell your kindergartners to practice their best chicken impressions. Then have them sit in a circle. Select one player to be "it." The "it" player must get on the inside of the circle and squat down (like a chicken). He must look at one of the other students in the circle and "bock" like a chicken to try to make her laugh. If the player laughs, she is the new "it" and they two players switch places. Any player who can keep a straight face earns a small prize.
Beanbag Egg Toss
Make egg beanbags by cutting egg shapes in white felt. Hot glue two pieces together and leave an opening at the top to fill with dry beans. After you fill the bags with beans, seal them off with hot glue. Make a chicken nest's out of faux straw. Have your students try to toss the chicken eggs into the chicken's nest. Earn small prizes to students who make an egg in the nest.
Pass the Rubber Chicken
Have the children sit in a circle and hand a rubber chicken to one player. You will call out a letter, such as "T," and say, "Pass the Chicken." The player holding the chicken has to pass it to the player on his right and the students pass the chicken around the circle as fast as possible. At the same time, the player who was holding the chicken has to name three things that start with the letter "T" like turtle, touchdown and teacher. He must name all three items before the rubber chicken makes it all the way around the circle. For a harder variation, say a category like colors and have the students name five colors.
