Fun Two Person Games

There are many ways to spend quality time with one of your friends or family members and playing games together is one of the most fun. Many game manufacturers specifically cater for the two-person market, particularly in the board game industry and in video games. There are also plenty of two player card games for those rainy afternoons, or sports for when you both feel like getting some exercise.
  1. Video Games

    • Whether you want to compete with or collaborate with another person, there is a video game for you. If you enjoy sports you will enjoy pitting your favorite team against that of your opponent in a game of "NBA 2K11" or "Madden NFL 2010." Likewise, car-racing games such as "Gran Turismo 5" can be a high-octane battle of reactions and intuition. On the other hand, you can either work together or against your partner with a shoot-em-up game such as "Call of Duty: Black Ops" or "House of the Dead: Overkill". The current generation of game consoles have many wireless peripherals on the market including guns which will add to the fun.

    Board Games

    • Chess is a well-established two-person board game which will test each player's foresight, and tactical and strategic skills. Word games such as "Boggle" and "Scrabble" are best played by two people and give each player a chance to flex their vocabulary to earn points. Games like Connect-4 and Battleship are specifically designed to be played by two people. Snakes and Ladders and Checkers are great if you want to entertain a child; the games are relatively simple to understand and fun for both players.

    Sports

    • Sports games are varied and will thus cater to your fitness levels, skill and competitive natures. Games like Tennis, Badminton and Table Tennis can be casual or competitive and are all great fun as well as great exercise. A one-on-one game of basketball is also fun and strenuous. Pool, snooker and ten-pin bowling are all good social sport games for dates. If you're looking after a child you can implement a game of Horse into a normal game of catch.

    Card Games

    • Card games are perfect for rainy days stuck inside or when traveling because a pack of cards is so mobile. Everyone has their own favorite card game but some fun choices include Gin Rummy, in which players must make runs of three and four cards, and Crazy Eights in which both players must try to get rid of their cards as quickly as possible. For children, a game of Slap Jacks, Go Fish, or War can be fast and fun.
