Parent Workshop Games

If you want to add a little fun to your parents' workshop, you can create some fun games that all attendants will like. When deciding on what types of games to play, you should consider the main theme of the workshop as well as the different personalities of the attendants who will play the games. Also make sure that the games are mentally challenging but not so difficult that the attendants may not understand them.
  1. Game About Child Discipline

    • You can have a role-playing game in which you divide the attendants up into groups and give each one an index card that has a scenario in which they'll have to discipline the child. Then let a few child attendants pretend to be the troublemakers, and the adults in the group will act out the best way to handle each scenario. Then you'll critique and judge each act, and the winner will receive a book on child-rearing.

Unique Ideas for Activities with Children

    • To encourage parents to incorporate quality time with their children, you can have a contest where each attendant will present a list of five unique activities that they can do with their children on weekdays after school. Then have each person stand in front of the group and give a ten-minute discussion of these ideas. The top three winners with the best ideas will get a gift card to a local arts and crafts store.

    Trivia Game About Parenting Teens

    • Another idea is to have a trivia game where you ask each attendant five questions about certain facts on parenting teenagers, based on research you've done on this subject. The two winners who guess all five questions right will get a fashion or food magazine.

    Building Children's Social Skills

    • If your workshop's theme is the building of children's social skills, you can have a game where the child attendants each role-play a scenario in which they're struggling with social skills. Then the adult attendants will give what they think is the best way to help the child in each scenario. The winner who has the best strategy will get a bag filled with a scrapbook and supplies to help them design it.
