Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II
The sequel to the popular "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance," "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II" is a PlayStation 2 exclusive that forces two players to battle through the game world in an attempt to defeat the vampire king Mordoc. As players kill the enemies that fill every dungeon the players must traverse, players may increase the skills of their characters, purchase upgraded weapons and items to help in the quest, and talk to characters in the game who will give players a new quest. The game is pure repetitive fun, and will keep players busy for a long time to come.
Resident Evil 5
The first cooperative game in the series, "Resident Evil 5" for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC allows two players to travel around the African desert of Kijuju. Players will be forced to stop a man named Ricardo Irving before he sells a bioterrorist weapon to a dangerous individual. The game expands beyond that, and players soon find themselves attempting to destroy an entire organization. Players travel to many locations, and along the entire way, they must help each other in an attempt to survive.
Borderlands
"Borderlands" is a first-person roleplaying game (RPG) that takes place on the planet of Pandora. This planet is in ruins and every inhabitant must fight for himself. As a result, players are in a wasteland sort of environment similar to that of the "Mad Max" series of films. It is the goal of the players to travel around this planet completing missions, upgrading weapons and earning loot, and trying to find the legendary "Vault." Players can take the role of either a hunter, a siren, a berserker or a soldier. The game can be played with two players on one television screen cooperatively and can also be played with four players over Xbox Live, PlayStation Network or a PC LAN.
Diablo 2
"Diablo 2" is an action RPG for the PC that forces players to traverse the land of Sanctuary. The original game follows four acts, with the end of each act forcing players to fight and defeat a prime evil. The game's expansion, titled "Lords of Destruction," adds a fifth act to the game and allows the player to finally fight and defeat the ultimate prime evil, Diablo. Much like most PC games, there is no offline, split screen gameplay. However, players can play with up to eight friends via cooperative mode online.
