How to Make Bible Games

Teaching the Bible to youngsters can be a challenge. Their attention spans are limited and when all they want to do is go outside and play, it can be difficult to hold their attention on the lesson of the day. However, you can make learning about the Bible fun by incorporating games into your lessons. Instead of just reading to the kids, have them interact with each other and with you about the subject matter they've just learned.

Instructions

    • 1

Come up with some trivia questions and their answers. Start with at least 50 questions. Decide whether the questions will focus on a section of the Bible like the Gospels, the New Testament or Old Testament, or just general information.

    • 2

Appoint one student to serve as the question giver or host. The remaining players will be divided into two teams. Each team will choose a team captain.

    • 3

The host will select one note card with trivia and read the question to the first team. Once the question is asked, start the timer to count down 30 seconds. During this time, the team will come up with its answer and tell its team captain. When time is up, the host will ask the team captain for the answer. If it's correct, the team gets a point. If not, the team will not gain a point and the answer is read to both teams.

    • 4

Repeat with the second team, and then go back and forth between teams until all questions have been asked, or a set amount of time has passed. When the game is over, tally the points earned. The team with the most points wins the game.
