Job Category Matching Game
Because there are various categories for specific jobs, a good game idea is to have the job seekers match certain job titles with the industries they belong in. Take large posters and write in large letters generic job categories such as entertainment, engineering, social services, education and medicine. The catch is that the players must not only match the right job title for each category, but they also have to write what training will be necessary for those jobs. Give each person six job titles to match, and the ones who get all six right will help you develop another game.
Cover Letter Proofreading Game
Take a dry-erase board and write three sample cover letters on them. Purposely write the cover letters with a few subtle errors in them. Each participant will have 15 minutes to guess what errors are in each letter and correct those errors. The winners who properly correct each cover letter will get to choose a restaurant for everyone to have lunch.
Career Dress-up Contest
Hold a game in which you give each participants a list of clothing items that pertain to a certain career but they'll have to guess what kind of outfit they need to assemble. Have three of your colleagues judge each outfit based on how close they come to the career it's supposed to represent. The winners receive a gift certificate to an affordable clothing store.
