Fun Children's Activity Games

There are many games that children can play that calls for them to work together whil still having fun. There are also games that will help children improve their listening skills. These games can teach children sportsmanship as well.
  1. Red Rover

    • Red Rover can be played in a gym or outdoors. The more participants you have, the more fun the game will be. The children are split into two equal lines. Each of the two lines of children face each other and hold hands with their partners. One of the lines starts the game by shouting "Red Rover, Red Rover let (a child&'s name on the opposite team) come over." The child has to let go of his partner&'s hands and try to break through the opposite team&'s arms. If the child breaks through, he can pick another child from that team&'s line to be on his team and return to his line. If the child doesn&'t break through, he will have to join the opposite team&'s line. Each team alternates calling children over until one team has all of the children, which is the winner.

    Chinese Whispers (Telephone Game)

    • Chinese Whispers, or the telephone game, as it is more commonly known, is a game that can be played with as many participants as desired. This game is a good bonding game for any age. Everyone forms a line, circle, or even a square. The first person chooses a phrase and whispers it to the person beside them. Then that person will need to whisper the phrase to the person beside them and so on. The last person will have to announce the phrase to the whole group and compare it to the original phrase. It&'s common that the phrase will be a little or even a lot different from the original phrase.

    I Spy

    • I Spy is a game that is played by two or more children. A child must say "I spy with my little eye something..." which is whatever color the object is that they are spying. The other children are to guess the object the spy is spying. Usually the spy would tell if the guess is "hot" meaning the object is very close, "cold" meaning the object is far, or "warm" meaning the object is near. Whichever child guesses the right object is the next spy.
